01Is Screen Signals free?
Yes. Public creator ratings and new creator assessment requests are free. No account or credit card is required.
02What happens if a creator is not in the catalog?
Search for the exact creator, choose the correct YouTube channel, and Screen Signals will start a new assessment when daily research capacity is available. The resulting public page updates as the review progresses.
03How long does a new assessment take?
Many assessments produce an early result within a few minutes, but transcript availability, provider capacity, and the number of usable videos can make some reviews take longer. You can keep the public result page and return later.
04Does a high score mean every video is appropriate?
No. A score summarizes observed patterns in a sample of public videos for a selected age range. It is not a guarantee about every upload, livestream, comment, recommendation, or visual-only moment.
05Why does the score change by age?
The same evidence is interpreted with different age sensitivity. Language, fear, mature topics, risky behavior, and other concerns can reasonably affect younger and older audiences differently.
06How do I report an incorrect or outdated assessment?
Email kevin@kevinwimer.com. Include the creator name, public page link, and the specific fact or context that should be reviewed.
07Can a child use Screen Signals?
No. Screen Signals is an adult, parent-directed resource. The adult parent or legal guardian searches creators, reads the public evidence, and makes the family decision.
